Boo, I love 'pwaying cars too'. I also spent hours sliding on my back under dining chairs which were clearly cars needing engine repairs. Love the crash - very spectacular.
Oh I remember the teenage boy doing exactly that car lineup when he was little and cute. So satisfying. And all those sorting, classifying and spatial skills being acquired, just by being a kid.
Playing with the cars. First, line them up; this way and that way... 
Then one car goes "boom"
Then they all go "boom". Followed by a fit of the giggles...
